Nature Party

Visit a local park and observe the wildlife or visit a nearby petting farm or petting zoo. Many parks have visitor centers with displays and rangers who can provide a special tour.

Party Invitations
Make invitations in the shape of a tree or bird. Include leaf prints or animal foot prints and drawings or photos of favorite wild animals. Ask guests to wear appropriate shoes and clothes for walking/hiking.

Party Decorations
Decorate with yellow, orange & green balloons, large rocks, leaves and pine cones, and plastic or stuffed toy animals.

Games & Activities
Have a nature walk and scavenger hunt (feather, gray rock, forked twig, etc.). Play duck, duck, goose, fishing games and pin the tail on the raccoon, squirrel or deer.

Arts & Crafts
Make animal masks, modeling clay animals and leaf prints.

Party Refreshments
Serve peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, baby carrots with dip, apple slices, trail mix (nuts, raisins, pretzels, m&ms) or critter crunch. Decorate cupcakes with animal-shaped cookies and sprinkles on top or make caterpillar cupcakes or  worm cupcakes.

Party Favors
Fill favor bags with plastic animals (snakes and bugs), animal crackers , blowing bubbles, animal stencils and stickers.
